The Manyu Future Cometh and It’s ours to Build

Fraternal greetings to every Manyu daughter, son and friends in the United States, back home and the world over. This is our second year of the Transitional Council (TC) working together as we continue the road of reconciliation and reconstruction of our community back into a United MECA-USA. It has been a rich and rewarding effort to inter act with many of you in many formats and especially those I have been blessed to meet in person.

Last year we met in the City of Atlanta to renew the family bonds that made up MECA for over 25 years and counting. This year from 5-7 July 2019, we will assemble in the Washington, D.C. Metro area to map a forward, diverse and inclusive forward leading agenda for the good of the association and our Manyu people in general.

In the past three years as a people, we have come a long way reconciling ourselves because we all believe in the oneness of Manyu in a United MECA-USA. On behalf of everyone, I thank everyone who individually or collectively has galvanized the community to coming together again. Sometimes we miss recognizing our individual contributions to this community effort but it is important and we recognize it.

Brothers and Sisters, as you prepare to make this annual family gathering please come along with ideas that help to uplift our members and our Manyu communities especially back in our homeland. Let those ideas be mindful of the realities of life that affect us as an association and Manyu people everywhere. Let us not assume that we can build a perfect organizational program over night or that everything that is possible in life can be achieved instantly. In addition, brothers and sisters let us check at the door personal grievances important as they are, and let us build this community with forgiveness and resolve for a better future.

I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has devoted much of their time helping to reconstruct this association, especially members of the Transitional Council, the various chapter leaders and the general membership. I also take this moment to welcome those who have never been a part of MECA-USA, this is your association and this is your home organization. I want to thank also our distinguished guests who because of their interest in the oneness of Manyu people have journeyed to this convention. May the almighty guide and bless every Manyu son, daughter, and friends.

Sincerely

Mrs. Kerenge Ako-Ebot Enow,
Chair, Transitional Council, United MECA-USA
